Week 7 - Presentation Systems & Platforms

 We started our lesson with the daily moods of our classmates. Then we went on with today's topic: Systems that can be used while giving a presentation and how to make our presentations more interactive.

We checked out a few websites to use in order to improve our presentations. The websites are below;

Nearpod: An interactive presentation website that has VR (360° Map), voting, pie chart, true/false activity, drawing, and collaborative board features.

Mentimeter: Another interactive website with many features like interactive polls, quizzes, Q&A, and word cloud.

Hypersay: Again, an interactive website 😀. The site has a chatbox, question tab, and clapping feature.

Slido: A presentation website that has features like polling, Q&A, multiple choice quiz, rating, ranking, etc.

Canva: A website that has informative graphic templates about many topics.

Postermywall: Another website with many templates that can be used in order to improve presentations visually.

Piktochart: Yes, again a website with informative templates. 👍

Pixabay & Pexel: Websites that have free-to-use pictures. Presenters can use pictures from these sites to avoid any kind of copyright issues.

In some part of the lesson, our teachers mentioned how it's not safe to post our pictures on the internet, and as teacher candidates, we should be very careful with what we post. Melike teacher said that we should not share pictures without the parents' consent and Gökhan teacher said that we should hide the face and the hair of the students. If I were to mention my own opinion about this, I completely agree with our teachers and believe that even though the student (a minor) or the family -of the minor student- has consented, it should not be posted.

I couldn't join this class on time because I was on Çekmeköy Subway -💀- again... But from what I've seen the lesson seemed so fun. I always wanted to improve my presentations; therefore, I will definitely use one of these websites in my upcoming career 😎
